How Much Does a Mount Toubkal Trip Cost in 2026?
The Complete Breakdown (No Hidden Fees)
Planning your first high-altitude adventure?
If you’re considering Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa, one of the first questions you’ll have is:
“How much does it actually cost to climb Toubkal?”
And like most things in adventure travel… the answer depends.
Some operators lure you in with bargain prices, only to hit you later with unexpected add-ons. Others bundle everything in but with very little clarity about what you’re really getting.
So in this guide, I’m going to break it all down honestly based on what we charge at Ultimate Adventure Travel and what we’ve seen others offer too.
You’ll leave with a full understanding of what you’ll pay, what to watch out for, and how to make sure you’re getting real value, not just a headline price.
What Does a Typical Mount Toubkal Trip Cost?
In 2026, you can expect to pay anywhere from £500 to £1,200+ depending on the level of service, accommodation, and group size.
At Ultimate Adventure Travel, our Toubkal trips start from £800, which includes:
✅ 6-day guided group trip
✅ Accommodation in the mountains (refuges or mountain lodges)
✅ All meals on the trek
✅ Luggage transfers via mule
✅ local guides
✅ Permits & National Park fees
✅ Pre-trip support and kit guidance
✅ Option to extend in Marrakech
What’s not included:
Flights to Marrakech
Travel insurance
Personal kit & equipment
Tips for local guides (optional, but customary)
Additional nights before/after in Marrakech (if you choose to extend)
We don’t hide fees or charge extra for things like gear rental, emergency oxygen, or private airport transfers. Everything’s upfront.
What About Flights?
You can usually find return flights from the UK to Marrakech for £70–£200, depending on when you book and which airport you fly from. We recommend booking direct with the airline for flexibility and reliability.
We don’t include flights in our packages—this keeps you protected, flexible, and able to choose the best deal for you.
✍️ Hot Tip: Always book flights after your trip is confirmed. And make sure your insurance covers cancellation and delays.
What About Equipment and Clothing?
You don’t need specialist mountaineering gear for Toubkal—but you do need the right kit for comfort and safety.
If it’s your first trek, expect to spend £150–£300 on things like:
Proper hiking boots (not trainers)
Layered clothing for mountain conditions
Sleeping bag (3-season minimum)
Trekking poles
Waterproof jacket & trousers
We’ll send a full kit list when you book and we also offer gear hire if you’re not ready to invest in everything yet.
Optional Costs: Marrakech Extensions
Want to spend time exploring Marrakech before or after the trek?
Our packages are flexible. You can:
Add a pre- or post-night in a centrally located Riad (from £50/night)
Book your own accommodation and meet us at the start point
We don’t force you into a rigid itinerary but we do offer curated extensions if you want to make the most of your trip.
Hidden Costs to Watch Out For
Not all operators are transparent. If you’re shopping around, look out for:
🚩 No mention of National Park permits or guide fees
These should always be included.
🚩 Extra charges for oxygen or altitude support
These should be part of the package, not a panic buy at altitude.
🚩 Big variation in group sizes
Cheaper trips often mean 20+ people and less individual support. Our trips are capped at 16.
🚩 No info on tipping expectations
You shouldn’t be blindsided at the end of the trip with an awkward moment. We give clear guidance before you go.
